When Life Gives You Lemons....

Eat the whole {dang} thing!
This is Gavin's first lemon. There was barely any flinching, but tons of smiles. He ate the whole piece, minus the rind!

  4. I found out about your blog from a good friend of mine in your ward (Emily Bateman). We have been down a similar road, and just want you to know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers. We hope that many blessings of comfort and peace continue to come your way. The dimeanor of these little ones is just amazing as they battle something so hard. Though strangers, if you ever need to chat or if there is anything we can do for you, please let us know. Give Spence a big hug from some fans in Eagle Mountain. And take it all one breathe at a time...

    Love, The Huish Family

  5. I came across your blog the other day and all I can say is wow! You have an amazing, strong, beautiful and courageous boy. I have a little boy who is also 7 and he was diagnosed with autism when he was 4. I was going crazy trying to find ways to help him, and was pretty angry about why him? After reading your blog it made me realize how lucky we really are, and how insignificant my problem is compared to yours. I went home last night and wouldn't let him go for a second. Not too mention I kept kissing him all over. He even said to me "Mom what is going on you have kissed me like 20 times already" I shared Spencers story with him. Needless to say we both prayed for Spencer and your family before bed. You are an amazingly strong parent. I read a book by Jenny McCarthy titled "Mother Warriors!" YOU DESERVE THAT TITLE MORE THAN ANYONE I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!

I must have prayed for you and Spencer five hundred times throughout the day yesterday and this morning already and I will continue to do that everyday until he gets better!

You have showed me a new kind of faith through reading your blog and I just wanted to say thank you both for being you! You both are an inspiration for everyone!

Also I am not sure if it would help Spencer at all. But I am 7 1/2 months pregnant and was planning on donating my cord blood. I don't know if that is something that could help him or not, but if it would be I would love to help him in anyway I possibly could. Just let me know. My email is larichardson@mtb.com

Stay strong and know that you have many many many people praying for you strong little boy! I am the whole way from PA and somehow something brought me to your page! I will share this story with all my friends and family to have them pray for Spencer also.
