Radiation: Day One

I am sitting outside of this huge heavy door, like 12 inches thick, waiting while my baby boy gets his first dose of radiation. I feel like I am going to barf. It is seriously like watching something on the SciFi channel of an alien abduction and the testing they do on humans. The tech let him use the controls to move the bed around which made him feel a little more comfortable. I took pictures of the bed and the machine but I still don't have the heart to take pictures of him strapped in by a "jason" mask. Did I mention I feel like barfing? I think we only have a few minutes left until he is done and then I am going to take him for Chinese food and he can eat as much orange chicken as he wants.

  1. Just try to remember Holly, in Spencer's situation the aliens have come in peace and goodwill. They got their probing equipment from the same place we get our spiritual equipment

  2. I am starting (not really starting - it's been obvious the whole time) that you are just as much of a Super Hero as Spencer. So hard to feel helpless when you can't go through it for them or take it away. You are doing everything a good mom should & we are here for you all the way!!

  3. Oh my goodness. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I don't think people realize how hard this is on you too. You must just be emotionally exhausted. Spencer is so lucky to have his Superhero Mommy at his side. Give him extra hugs- what a BRAVE, BRAVE boy!

So cool you got to control the machines Spencer. You are being such a brave, strong kid!
