New Found Peace

I feel so peaceful today. It has been a little bit of a draining day but we are so lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends and family. So many people in this world are good. If I could make a list of those people I would, but we have been blessed with SHLOADS of them. I want to take a moment to talk about my husband. I have been encouraging him to write some of his own posts. I would love for this blog to be "all dimensional". Nate is a wonderful person. He is very funny, and very personable. Everyone who meets him is drawn to him. He is one of the least judgmental people I know, and makes all those around him feel comfortable. He is a good dad. He is especially good at putting the kids to bed and cuddling. He is very intelligent, one of the most intelligent people I know. He has been such a great support to me through this trial our family is working through. He has given us strength and has worked so hard at keeping the peace during the "angry" times. Yesterday was the tenth anniversary of our first date. I am so lucky to have him in my life. I love him so much.
Today is Thursday. Chemo day. I had a hard time sitting in the waiting room. Waiting for a room to empty, because they were all full. Why were all the rooms full? Why are there so many children with cancer? How have I been so oblivious to its prevalence? Why am I forced to be a member of a club that I don't want to be in? Chemo days are usually happy days for me. I feel like it's the one thing I have a hold on, the weapons that are fighting this battle. I got to see my Melly today. She is my breath of fresh air. We got to eat fish tacos, sweet potato fries and drink Dr. Pepper. We took the kids to see Percy Jackson (highly recommend) and had a nice fun, healthy day! I love you my friends and family.

  1. I am Kimmy Buckley's sister and I have heard about you and your family. I am praying for you and your family and hope that your moods stay cheerful. Thank you for being an example to the rest of us who do not really know what you are going through.
