Hair

I just had a hold my breath moment. Spencer is in the shower right now getting ready for radiation today. I went in there to help him wash his hair, and when I took my hands off of his head there was a bunch of hair in my fingers. It wasn't a big chunk but it was more than a few hairs, and it happened everytime I ran my fingers through his hair. I am okay. This is something we have been preparing for and we knew that radiation and the chemoes we are taking now may have those effects. Deep breath out.

  1. In a way you can look at it as a sign it's working. As long as the tumor goes away with the hair right? You are an awesome mom Holly!!!

  2. My name is Colette Womack. I lived in your ward a back in 2006. I taught Spencer in Sunbeams. You may not remember me. I was there for only a few months but, I remember Spencer. I remember his spikey hair, yellow vest sweater, and big smile. (I secretly planned for him to marry my daughter Savanah.)

I recently found your blog. I cry every time I read it. Thank you for sharing this experience. It should be required reading for anyone who thinks they're having a bad day. My perspective on life has changed immensely. Thank you, I needed that. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family always.
