Midnight Snack

Things are looking up for the moment. We had a very nice evening together. We talked, we read scriptures, we played with his iPod Touch, he told me he loves me several times (i love that) and told me that I am the best mommy ever. It was an evening I will never forget. We cried together and we laughed together. Then around 11:30 p.m. he asked if he could have a banana, and then asked if he could walk to get it! He has not been out of bed since we have been here on Monday! Your prayers are working! We took a walk to the nutrition room and grabbed a banana and a fruit punch. His tummy hurt a little from the exercise but he decided he wanted to watch Planet 51 (miracle #3,4 and 5 today)! His Na+ is a little low so they will give him an NS drip. Keep on praying!

  2. You don't know me and I don't know you, but I have been where you are and have come out the other end of that dark tunnel. Nothing is worse than being the mom of a sick child no matter what age. That said, nothing is better than the bonds created-those sacred tender moments shared with a sick child. Being torn into tiny pieces by the needs of all of your children renders one feeling like you have run out of fingers to put into the leaking dam and it is about ready to break. Hold on tight, your Heavenly Father will supply the extra fingers needed in ways you would have never imagined. Some things will never be the same, but it is okay because the journey will have revealed the most important ones. My heart aches for your pain, for your fear, for your missing your other children, for your sleepless nights, for your world that has been turned on end. I wish that I could wrap my arms around you. I would tell you, let me carry your burden for a few moments while you take a moment to re-gather you strength, your faith, your fight. May you feel God's warmth and love enfold you and know you are loved by those that don't know you. There is an army of mom's that have done this and say it is okay to feel everything that you feel and that you are not alone. One of my fondest memories of that time is giving my son foot rubs-one small thing that distracted him from everything that was going on. I cherish that memory, because the now strapping 6'4" son would not think of letting me touch his feet now-he's too busy using them to sit down! May god bless you each moment.

  3. I just love that little guy. He has some of his old mischeiviousness back in his expressions in these photos - so great to see!

  7. You don't me but apparently we are in the same stake. My son just finished a six month course of chemotherapy and I can relate to some of what you are going through. May God bless you and your family.
