Random Blogs of Happiness: Catching Up

Megan is one of our most favorite nurses. Luckily for us we get to have her often. She was one of the wonderful nurses who helped us advance Spencer's chemo so that he could be home for his birthday. She was our discharge nurse that day. She insisted that Spence get a birthday cupcake atleast for pictures, if nothing else. She ordered on for him and a few minutes later room service brought it up for him. I told him to hold it for a picture, then I took it and angled it so that I could get a good picture of it and then PLOP! It landed upside down on the floor! We were laughing so hard! It was a good thing that he wasn't planning on eating that sorry splattered cupcake!


Memorial Day was not the same this year. We really didn't do anything. Spencer's numbers were still low and the day was overcast and yucky, so there was not much for us to do. One of the lovely families at our church brought over a whole Memorial Day bbq dinner. Hamburgers, corn on the cob, pasta salad and even watermelon. This was Gavin's first go at the fruit, and if you ask me, he loved every bite!

I bought some flowers last week and spruced up our door step. They make me happy. I now like to come in the front door instead of through the garage. I cannot wait to have the time for a garden....someday.
